A Brother’s Touch…

Normally, I don’t like commercials, but Cingular (or their ad agency) has put together something that I think may be the funniest thing going right now. The commercial I’m talking about can be viewed by clicking on the following link…

So, the commercial is pretty funny, but not realistic. I don’t even know if you could consider that an awkward situation? Don’t you think the guy would have looked at his phone and said “Oh, it dropped the call. She didn’t hear a word of what I said.”? That really isn’t why I’m so intrigued by this commercial. I want and need to know what happens next. Does he call her back? Does she call him back? Obviously, if a real connection took place the night before, someone would be placing a call soon after the one that got dropped right? What is the proper etiquette in that situation or in any dropped call situation? I’m of the belief that whoever made the outgoing call should be the one to redial. However, if I received a call from someone and it got dropped and I hadn’t heard back from them in 5 minutes, I’d call them.

The one thing I don’t like about this commercial or this ad campaign is that Cingular is full of crap. Their statement of being THE network with the fewest dropped calls is completely unfounded. And, if it is founded, the data has been tampered with. I recently switched to Cingular and have experienced more dropped calls in 1 month than I had with 4 years of Verizon service.
